Study: I.V. House UltraDressing Significantly Improves Dwell Times
In hospitals worldwide, there is an increased emphasis on protecting peripheral IV catheters to prevent patient harm and extend dwell times. This reduces costly, painful, and time-consuming restarts, which improves patient safety and increases nurse efficiency.
In a recent randomized-controlled study, the I.V. House UltraDressing® was shown to be effective in significantly improving dwell times.
The conclusion of the study stated: The I.V. House UltraDressing is a useful device that can be used to increase catheter dwell time and protect and stabilize PIVCs in pediatric patients. This provides additional evidence-based support for the prolonged use of the I.V. House UltraDressing as a safe, easy-to-use, and effective device to protect or manage PIVCs in pediatric patients.
The I.V. House UltraDressing is available for infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, and protects an IV catheter on the hand, arm, or foot. The adjustable, resealable Velcro® tab greatly reduces the need for tape which can damage fragile skin. The TLC Splint was also used during this study but the author did not report use in the conclusion.

Our hospital partners are reporting that I.V. House products are particularly effective when used in combination with complementary products and improved processes, including educating patients, parents, or other caregivers about how to spot early warning signs of complications.
